Food Technology 2018
In
Food Technology, students team up to make food products. They learn how
to organise their class time through planning tools, then review their plans
and evaluate their food products to see if they are fit for purpose.

Technology 2018
Wow we are already well over halfway through the year! We are so impressed with the amount of creativity and inventive products that our students are designing. We are busy getting reports ready to be sent out to families own the next few weeks.
We're excited about their new format as they include pictures of your students in action, so you will get to see what they have been up to!

Technology and Science - Newsletter Week 7 T3
There has been a lot going on in Technology this term. The Year 7 & 8 students have been mastering their skills in all sorts of machines and techniques, using them to create amazing projects. We even got our Syndicate Four teachers all ready for their ski trip this week, they will definitely be warm and easy to spot by all the students!
Students learn all about the Design Process, which includes, product ideation, brief writing, product development and design and manufacturing. In Science students are learning about the Living World, we do this by learning about Mussels, Flowers, DNA and life functions, fair testing and writing hypothesis. Wood Technology students have been busy creating speaker boxes, learning all about not only building the speaker box but putting together the electronic componentry to make their speakers work!
Food Technology students are learning about sugars, this covers the Technological Products part of the Curriculum. This means we need to understand there is a crucial relationship between the composition and structure of the materials used and their performance properties. They also need to understand how choice of materials impacts on the design, development, maintenance, and disposal of technological products. We do this by looking at where sugar comes from and how different types of sugar behave in foods when cooked.
